Three trials will be held to select a team to represent the University in debate against Yale on December 7. At the first trial on Tuesday, October 30, speakers will be allowed five minutes, and ten to sixteen men will be retained. The speeches at the second trial on November 2 will be ten minutes in length, six men being retained. These will be divided by lot into teams of three men each, which will debate on November 6 to determine the final make-up of the team. At this trial each man will speak twelve minutes, and five minutes in rebuttal, and the Coolidge Debating Prize of $100 will be awarded. The second team will be retained for practice debates, and one of its members will be chosen alternate shortly before the debate with Yale. The subject will be given out on October 26.
