Appointments by the Faculty

The following appointments have been made by the Faculty of Arts and Sciences:

William Morris Davis '69, Sturges-Hooper Professor of Geology since 1898, has been appointed Acting Dean of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences from July 1, 1906 to September 1, 1907.

Byron Satterlee Hurlbut '87, Assistant Professor of English since 1901, and Dean of Harvard College since 1902, has been appointed Professor in English from September 1, 1906.

Lewis Jerome Johnson '87, Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering, has been appointed Professor of Civil Engineering from September 1, 1906.

Albert Sauveur, of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Assistant Professor of Metallurgy and Metalography since 1901, has been appointed Professor of Metallurgy and Metalography from September 1, 1906.

The following assistant professors have been appointed for five years from September 1, 1906: J. L. Love, A.M. '91, Mathematics; J. L. Morse '87, Pedeatrics; G. G. Sears, M.D. '85, Clinical Medicine; E. E. Southard '97, Neuropathology; J. K. Whittemore '95, Mathematics.

C. N. Greenough '98 has been appointed Instructor in English, and A. E. Norton Instructor in Mechanical Drawing and Descriptive Geometry, both from September 1, 1906.

The following have been appointed for one year, from September 1, 1906;

Lecturers: R. M. Johnston, History; J. W. Platner, Ecclesiastical History; S. A. Reeve, Mechanical Engineering.

Instructors: T. Hall, Jr., English; K. G. Webster, English.

Assistants: L. G. Andrus, Hydraulics; C. Deard, Jr., Mechanical Drawing; S. R. Crosse, Electrical Engineering; H. W. Sturgis, Electrical Engineering.

R. J. Terry has been appointed Teaching Fellow in Histology, for one year, from September 1, 1906.
