University Crew Given Time Row

RED TOP, June 17, 1906--During the rain on Saturday afternoon, the University crew went over the four-mile course down stream in the good time of 22m., 20s. The Freshman crew paced them for the first two miles, finishing three-fourths of a length ahead off the Navy Yard, making the two miles in 11m. 10s. The tide was flood and there was no wind.

The University crew continued down stream at a steady pace, rowing 29 strokes a minute and spacing out well between strokes. All the men finished strong, and Richard at 3 rowed smoothly, pulling a strong oar throughout the trial.
