In the first of the interclass hockey series the Sophomores defeated the Seniors by a score of 2 to 1 yesterday afternoon in the Stadium. The ice was in such poor condition that good team work and fast playing were impossible. During the first half the play was even and spirited, the Seniors scoring once in the middle of the period. In the second half the puck was in the Seniors' territory most of the time and by clever passing the Sophomores were able to score two goals.
The summary follows: Score--1909, 2; 1907, 1. Goals--Niles 2, Nichols. Referee--A. Fraser-Campbell '08. Timekeeper--K. S. Cate '09. Time--15-minute halves. 1907 vs. 1908 in Stadium at 3.30. The second game of the interclass hockey series will be played between the Seniors and the Juniors this afternoon in the Stadium at 3.30 o'clock. Both teams have played one game, but have had little opportunity for practice. The Juniors have some better individual players than the Seniors, and should win a close game. The line-up:
