Thirty-one candidates reported for the battery positions of the University and Freshmen baseball teams yesterday afternoon. Beginning today these candidates will practice each afternoon in the Cage.
For this week A. L. Castle 2L. will assist Coach Pieper in coaching the pitchers. The candidates for all the positions will be called out the first of next week.
The battery candidates have been divided up in two squads to report ready for practice at 2.30 and 3 o'clock.
The squad to report at 2.30 o'clock is composed of the following: pitchers--E. C. Bacon '10, F. R. Beebe '09, S. D. Bush '09, E. N. Davis '09, G. F. Greene '07, N. K. Hartford '09, C. E. Lincoln '08, H. F. Nash '09, C. H. Palmer, Jr., '09, D. O. Slater '08, J. P. Thomas '09, L. F. Whitney '10; catchers--E. P. Currier '09, L. Howe '08.
Those who are to report at 3 o'clock are as follows: pitchers--S. C. Boyer '10, D. C. Brennan '08, S. W. Cooper, Jr., '09, D. T. Curtin '10, S. T. Hicks '10, C. L. Lanigan '10, H. G. Manning '10, L. C. Parsons '10, G. D. Pirnie '10, P. Withington '09; catchers--R. C. Brown '10, T. H. Campbell '09, R. Kelly '09, W. R. Ohler '10.
