Lacrosse Plans and Prospects

Candidates for the University lacrosse team will be called out shortly after the mid-year examinations for preliminary practice on the handball courts in the rear of the Gymnasium. Particular attention will be paid to the inexperienced men during the early practice to teach them the rudiments of the game, so that when field work begins they will be able to play to advantage with the more experienced players.

The regular practice on Soldiers Field will probably begin during the last week of February, and practice games will be held daily in order to develop as much team play as possible before the southern trip, which will come as usual during the spring recess. The schedule for the latter part of the season will include a trip to Western New York and the usual intercollegiate games. The interclass series will be played soon after the recess.

The members of last year's team who are eligible to play again this year are Captain E. J. Wendell '07, S. H. Ackerman '07, E. S. Barber '08, A. C. Comey '07, G. M. Dwelley '08, P. B. Francis '08, T. G. Sessa '08 and B. M. Vance '08. The prospects for a strong team this year are very good, since in addition to these experienced players, many men who have had experience on class teams are eligible to play. Dr. D. P. Penhallow '03 will coach the University team this year.
