The second and last of the series of handicap field event competitions, similar to those conducted last fall was begun yesterday and will be completed this afternoon at 3.30 o'clock in the Cage. Today the contests will be in the high jump and pole vault.
The shot put yesterday was won by G. G. Glass '08, handicap 6 ft.; distance, 42 ft., 11 in.; second, C. C. Little '10, handicap, 2 ft., 6 in., distance, 41 ft., 3 1-2 in. Glass also won the series cup with 10 points. Little was second with 4 points, and B. T. Stephenson, Jr., '08, third with three points.
In the broad jump yesterday, first place was won by C. C. Little '10, distance 19 ft., 11 in.; second, P. C. Haskell '08, 19 ft., 9 in. The cup for the series was won by P. C. Haskell '08 with 8 points; second, C. C. Little '10 with 6 points; and third, A. G. Winward '10 with three points.
Today's competitions in the high-jump will conclude the work in the Cage. Tomorrow the track team candidates for the field events will report at their regular hours at the Gymnasium, where the practice under Assistant Coach Quinn will continue.
