Progress of Text-Book Loan Library

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

A new book-case, capable of holding about 1500 books, has been recently set up in one of the office rooms on the ground floor of Phillips Brooks House. This case is to contain the books of the Text-book Loan Library, which are for the present in the Randall Room.

As very few books were received in the clothing collection recently held, there will be a special book collection near the end of the period of the final examinations. In the collection at this time last spring about five hundred books were secured. One hundred and twenty-five more were added in the collection last autumn. More than one hundred and fifty of these have been loaned throughout the year.

It is the purpose of the library to have copies of all the books used in all the courses in the University, and to have two or more of the books most commonly needed. These books may be borrowed by any member of the University upon the deposit of a small sum, which is refunded when the books are returned.
