In the final round of the intercollegiate tennis tournament, played yesterday on the courts of the Merion Cricket Club, Philadelphia, Tilden and Thayer of Pennsylvania defeated Holden and Bundy of Yale in straight sets, 6-4, 11-9, 6-4.

The match, which was postponed from the previous day because of darkness, was extremely closely contested in spite of the fact that the Yale players did not get a set. Yale lobbed a great deal and kept the Pennsylvania men on the jump all the time, but were not able to overcome their swift drives and skilful placing. Since N. W. Niles '09 won the singles on Thursday, Harvard and Pennsylvania each gain one of the two possible points towards the possession of the intercollegiate trophy.
