First Debating Team Trials Tonight

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The first trial to choose the team which will represent the University in the annual debate with Princeton on March 20 will be held in Dane Hall this evening. Speaking will begin promptly at 7 o'clock.

The trial tonight is open to all students in the University, and will consist of 5-minute speeches on either side of the question for debate: "Resolved, That further increases in the United States navy are undesirable." On the basis of these speeches twelve or more men will be retained for the second trial on Friday evening. S. Curtis '05, M. C. Leckner '07, and probably A. C. Blagden '06 will judge the speaking tonight.

Thirty men have handed in their names for the trial, and the order of speaking will be determined by lot and posted in Upper Dane and in Gore Hall by 9 o'clock this morning. Men whose names do not appear on the list, however, will be given an opportunity to speak after the regular speakers.
