BASEBALL TEAM AT HANOVER

Game With Dartmouth This Afternoon.--Briggs and McCall Given Rest.

The University baseball team will play Dartmouth at Hanover this afternoon in the first game of the series, the second of which will be played in Cambridge on June 6. The Harvard line-up has been changed considerably in order to give Briggs and McCall a rest until after the Andover game tomorrow. Hall will play first base and Kemble second. Aronson will play in right field, and Hicks will pitch against Captain Glaze of Dartmouth.

The Dartmouth team, with the exception of Glaze and Schildmiller, who played first base last year, is composed of new men, for most of last year's team were disqualified. The outlook was extremely poor at first, but with capable coaching and hard practice a good nine has been collected and is fast rounding into shape. On the Southern trip the team was unsuccessful, and lost several games by large scores, including a defeat by Georgetown, 14 to 6. Since then victories have been registered over Bowdoin twice, 3 to 0, and 2 to 1, over Trinity, over Yale, 3 to 2, and over West Point on Saturday, 4 to 2. Vermont, however, scored a defeat over Dartmouth, 3 to 0, and Holy Cross twice, 4 to 0, and 5 to 3. On the whole, Harvard and Dartmouth seem to be evenly matched, and a close game may be expected.

The University team leaves at 9 o'clock this morning from the North Station for Hanover, and will return to Boston early tomorrow morning.

The batting orders will be: HARVARD.  DARTMOUTH. Leonard, 3b.  r.f., Schildmiller Harvey, c.f.  p., Glaze Lanigan, l.f.  c., Leonard Aronson, r.f.  c.f., Mitchell Currier, c.  3b., Hobart Simons, s.s.  2b., Eaton Hall, 1h.  1b., Brady Kemble, 2b.  l.f., Emerson Hicks, p.  s.s., Conroy
