SECOND GAME WITH BROWN

Hicks vs. Nourse Again,--McCall at Second and Harding at First.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The University baseball team till play its second game with Brown this afternoon on Soldiers Field at 3.30 o'clock, and half-hour before the time the mid-week games have usually been played. Hicks will probably oppose Nourse again, as a result of his excellent pitching last Saturday, when Brown won, 3 to 1, on errors by the University team.

McCall will be back at second base again for the first time since the first Princeton game, and Harding, captain of this year's second team, will play his first game at first base for the University team. The rest of the line-up will remain unchanged. The Batting orders: HARVARD.  BROWN Leonard, 3b.  r.f., McGurty McCall, 2b.  c.f., Dennie Harvey, c.f.  f., Raymond Aronson, r.f.  s.s., Regnier Lanigan, l.f.  2b., Budlong Currier, c.  3b., Hennessy Simons, s.s.  l.f., Buss Harding, 1b.  1b., Minnerly Hicks or Hartford, p.  p., Nourse

Short Practice Game with Exeter Yesterday.

The team played a short practice game with Exeter on Soldiers Field yesterday afternoon. At the end of four innings the game was called with the score 2 to 0 in favor of the University team. Slater and Baines were the opposing pitchers.

The less said about the game the better. There was more stupid ball playing on the part of the Harvard team in the four innings than has been seen this years on Soldiers Field in a whole afternoon. Exeter was badly up in the air and threw the ball around wildly, but little advantage was taken of the openings. In the second inning there were two men on bases and no one out, yet no runs were scored. Currier attempted to steal second while Lanigan occupied the base. The result was that Lanigan was run down and Currier was chased back to first.

In the third innings with one man out Leonard was hit in the leg and Pounds ran for him. McCall knocked a poply to the third baseman and failed to run it out. The ball was dropped and Pounds, not seeing the error, returned to first, and was then put out.

One Exeter man reached third in the third inning on Slater's high throw to first and a subsequent wild pitch, but he failed to score. Aronson scored Harvard's two runs in the second with men on second and third by a clean drive to right field
