SECRET FOOTBALL PRACTICE

Held for First Time This Year.--Light Work Given First Eleven.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Yesterday afternoon the football squad had the first secret practice of the season in the Stadium. The work was light and there was no scrimmage. The second team held a long practice outside of the Stadium under Coaches Foster and Cutting. C. Blagden '02, joined the coaching staff again after an absence of two weeks, and will assist Coach Kersberg with the line men.

The work was light, the squad staying out only a little over an hour. There was a short drill in formations then the teams lined up for signal practice. P. D. Smith, Corbett and Dunlap, all of whom have been out of practice for some days, were in the line-up. McKay, Rogers, G. G. Browne, Captain Fish and Wigglesworth were not on the field; the first three on account of recitations, Captain Fish was given a lay off, and Wigglesworth is out for three or four days on account of illness.

The first team ran through signals well, but were a little listless, neither O'Flaherty nor Galatti getting much speed and dash into the work. Coach Daly was at quarterback on the substitutes' team and put life into every play.
