The election of Theodore Roosevelt '80 as president of the Alumni Association in anticipation of his return to this country is a very fitting honor to this country is a very fitting honor to the graduate who of Harvard men now living has perhaps done most to bring honor to his University. His active career has brought public service into greater respect among those citizens best fitted to undertake it, and has introduced, not only into public service but into everyday life of the people, new standards of duty and efficiency.

As president of the Alumni Association, Mr. Roosevelt will have opportunity to come into very close touch with the graduate organizations all over the country, and with the University itself. He will be called on to preside at the annual spring meeting of the Association and at the exercises on Commencement Day. It is a post of great dignity and of great possibilities for service to Harvard.
