NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The University doubles championship was won yesterday afternoon by A. Sweetser '11 and W. B. Fraser-Campbell '11 from E. P. Pearson 2L. and J. R. McLane 2L., in three straight sets, 6-3, 6-4, 8-6.

The first set reached three all, each man winning his service. At this point Sweetser and Fraser-Campbell broke away, and although their opponents showed streaks of Excellent net play, were able to run out the next three games and the set by their terrific drives and well placed shots.

In the second set, the score reached three all when Fraser-Campbell won McLane's service, the seventh game. But the next game went to Pearson and McLane, through clever placing by the former and terrific smashing by the latter. With the score four all, Sweetser and Fraser-Campbell braced and won their second set on the next two games.

The third set was the closet of the match. With the score 3 to 2 against them, Sweetser and Fraser-Campbell won three straight games, bringing the score to 5-3. But Pearson and McLane showed that they were still in the running, and by excellent team play and sharp volleying from the net, pulled up and passed their opponents until the score stood 6 to 5 in their favor. But Sweetser and Fraser-Campbell again showed a burst of speed and won the next two games. With Fraser-Campbell serving in the final game, the score reached forty love. Pearson and McLane, however, scored the next three points bringing the score to deuce. Fraser-Campbell and Sweetser gained the odd point seven times, and each time their opponents evened the score, until finally Sweetser won the match by scoring an ace on a hard drive down Pearson's back-hand.
