As a result of the balloting which was held in Memorial Hall on Friday and Saturday of last week with regard to the question of allowing smoking in the Hall, 323 votes were cast in favor of the plan, 177 opposed, and 66 indifferent. In accordance with its original plan the University Dining Council will meet this morning to come to a decision taking in-to consideration the result of this vote and the question in all its bearings.
In case the Council votes in favor of smoking, its decision will be subject to the following conditions:
"1. Smoking to be allowed only during dinner, and then only after 6.30 P. M.
"2. The privilege to be allowed for a trial period of two weeks.
"3. The question to be re-submitted to the Hall after two weeks' trial."
