CROSS-COUNTRY CANDIDATES

To Report at Locker Building at 4.--Team Prospects Bright.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Candidates for the University and Freshman cross-country teams will report at the Locker Building this afternoon at 4 o'clock. H. P. Lawless '13 has been appointed captain of the University team and will have charge of the practices until Coach Shrubb arrives, which will probably be next Monday.

The prospects for a championship cross-country team are exceedingly bright this year as all the men who placed in the intercollegiate run, with the exception of Captain Withington have returned to College and will be eligible. Of the ten men who ran against Yale at New Haven, seven will doubtless run again this year. They are Captain H. P. Lawless '13, F. H. Blackman '14, R. St.B. Boyd '14, C. W. Burrage '13, F. W. Copeland '13, A. F. de Gozzaldi '14, and H. M. Warren '13. Of last year's Freshman team, the most promising appear to be R. S. Carter, H. C. McClure, and E. P. Stone.

The race with Yale will be held over the Brookline course this year and the intercollegiate race will be held at Ithaca over the Cornell Course.

The Freshman team will also have a race with Yale and Coach Shrubb is very desirous of having a large number of candidates. It is especially desirable that men who intend to run the distance runs in the spring should report for cross-country work regularly.
