WINNER OF QUARTER-MILE RUN WITH YALE TO LEAD NEXT YEAR'S TEAM

William Andros Barron, Jr., '14, of Newburyport, was elected captain of the University track team for next year at a meeting of the track "H" men held yesterday. Barron prepared at Middlesex School but did no running before he came to College.

In his Freshman year, he ran on the class relay team and captained the spring track team. For the last two years, he has been captain of the 390-yard relay team and he won the 440-yard dash against Yale, his time for the event at New Haven this spring, 49 seconds, equaling the dual record established by J. E. Haigh '03. Barron also secured third place in the quarter-mile in the Intercollegiates last Saturday.

R. St. B. Boyd '14, of Dedham, has been appointed captain of next year's cross-country team.
