FOOTBALL SCHEDULE FOR SEASON

University Team and Yale Have Games Against Four Teams in Common.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

In a little over a week a chance will be offered for a comparison between the Harvard and Yale football teams by their showings against the same team. Such comparisons, while unsatisfactory and usually of little value, are always interesting. Next Saturday the University team plays the University of Maine in the Stadium; a week from that date Yale plays Maine in New Haven. From these two contests a good line on the early season work of both the big teams may be secured, and it will be discovered how much advantage Yale's earlier start at practice has given it.

Holy Cross is also on the schedule of both colleges, but on dates three weeks apart--playing Yale on Saturday and Harvard on the eighteenth of October--so that a comparison would not be as effective as in the first case.

As many as four teams appearing on both the Harvard and Yale schedules, as is the case this year, is unusual. Princeton and Brown and sometimes an early season college are generally the only ones common to both schedules.
