LIGHT WORK-OUT FOR PLAYERS

ATTENTION OF COACHES DIRECTED TO LINE'S OFFENSIVE TACTICS.

The recurrence of warm weather, and the prevalence of injuries among the first string men, combined to lighten the work of the University football squad yesterday afternoon. The coaches gave a great deal of time to individual work with the men, with only a short scrimmage ensuing in the late afternoon.

Mahan and Logan will probably be out of the game against Washington and Jefferson. Soucy was back at centre yesterday. His presence in the middle of the line helped the situation immeasurably and the line showed a great improvement over the work of the preceding day. Coaches J. Nourse '09, C. Blagden, Fisher, Parmenter and Hitchcock directed all their attention to teaching the linesmen to charge low and use their hands on the offensive. Hardwick remained in the backfield, Weatherhead playing right end, and Watson quarter.
