NEW OPPORTUNITY FOR FRESHMEN

Cup Series Open to Them if They Finish Interdormitory Play.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Thus far the Freshmen have supported their dormitory teams very poorly, but provided 1918 shows enough spirit to complete the interdormitory football games, the winner of that series will be challenged by the winning eleven of the Haughton Cup series to play two out of three games for the championship. The Haughton Cup men have been practicing regularly for the past two weeks and are developing rapidly. The next game in this series will be played tomorrow between the "Crows" and the "Bingos."

Gore Downs Smith.

Much to the surprise of those who have been following the interdormitory football games, Gore succeeded in defeating the fast Smith eleven yesterday by the score 13 to 0. Smith was completely outplayed and showed no evidence of the line-plunging and forward passing that defeated Standish last week. The two touchdowns were made by J. Knowles, Jr., '18, A. D. Weld '18 kicking only one of the goals, though the second was a good attempt from a difficult angle.
