LACROSSE PRACTICE STARTS

Usual Fall Work Will Begin Today.--More Manager Candidates Needed.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

All men who hope to make the University or Freshman lacrosse teams in the spring and who are not participating in a regular fall sport are expected to report this afternoon for practice at 3.30 o'clock.

Most of the practice during the fall will be spent in developing accurate stick-work and in mastering the fundamental principles of the game. By reporting regularly for the autumn work, men with no experience can develop enough skill to become members of the team in the spring. Freshmen especially will gain from the joint practice with the University squad.

In about two weeks a series of scrub games will be played. Each member of the team winning the series will receive a cup or medal.

Chance for Additional Managers.

Owing to the fact that a very small number of candidates for second assistant manager of the lacrosse team reported at the first call, the time has been extended to tonight. Men from 1918 who intend to enter the competition must report in Hollis 19 to H. R. Anderson at 7.30 o'clock. The competition is not hard, no previous experience being necessary, and the team takes a southern trip, equal to that taken by the baseball team, making this managership very desirable. The competition will last for only a month this fall and then will be continued in the spring.
