FOOTBALL SQUAD FACES HARD WEEK'S PRACTICE

Team to Return to Rudiments of Game in Preparation for Remaining Contests.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Yesterday was laid aside as a day of rest for the University football team. Of the eleven men who started Saturday's game, only four, Cowen, Parson, Watson, and Whitney, reported dressed for play, the others merely looking on.

A long black-board talk in the Locker Building was the first event of the day's schedule, and following this the men retired to the Cage. Here the coaches actively demonstrated the mistakes of the Cornell game, and all were put through a careful signal practice and a drill in the rudiments of the game. Enwright and McKinlock each participated in the work, and Robinson was given a chance to run the team. As a conclusion to the practice, a short punting drill was held in the Stadium.

Injuries Not as Serious as Feared.

The injured list does not present as serious an aspect as was first thought. Wallace has practically recovered from the blow received on the head, and King should soon recover from his strained leg muscle. An X-ray examination has shown that the injury to Gilman's ankle is not a fracture, but a sprain, and it is expected that he will be available for the last three games.

The University squad is in for a hard and gruelling week of work. Coach Haughton has laid out a program of practice that will undoubtedly tax the men to the utmost, and it is certain that the next three days, at least, will see the stiffest and most arduous playing that the University has had this year.

The first line-up taken in the Cage follows: L. Curtis, l.e.; R. C. Curtis, l.t.; Cowen, l.g.; Taylor, c.; Duncan, r.g.; Caner, r.t.; Coolidge, r.e.; Watson, q.b.; Wiggin, l.h.b.; Enwright, r.h.b.; Rollins, f.b.
