Not Enough Men Out.--Importance of Spring Practice for Candidates.

Twenty candidates for the University association football team reported to Coach Burgess and Captain W. W. Weld '16, on Soldiers Field yesterday afternoon at the first spring practice. They were given drill in shooting goals and then lined up in two teams for a strenuous scrimmage.

Members of last years team who reported were, besides Captain Weld: F. G. C. O'Neill '16, D. Moffat '16, and J. M. Jennings '16. The others were S. A. Robinson '16, J. P. Thurber '17, S. J. Mantel '17, E. H. Bean '17, O. G. Daly '17, P. C. Lewis '17, E. S. Emery '16, M. F. Talbot '16, R. T. Whistler '16, R. J. Gray '18, V. B. Kellet '18, R. C. Cooke '18, K. L. Maclachlan '18, G. G. Whytlaw '18, F. R. Hulme '18.

This showing for spring practice is very unsatisfactory and more candidates are urged to report today. The importance of coming out at this time must not be overlooked by those who wish to try for the team next fall.
