The trials for the interclass debating teams will be held in Harvard 5 this evening at 7.30 o'clock. Men in Military Science 1 will not be expected until 8 o'clock, or as soon after as the lecture is concluded. The question under dispute will be: "Resolved: That in the light of recent events the Monroe Doctrine has been rendered obsolete and should be abolished." Judges have been appointed for the trials. They are: Henry Epstein '16, former member of the University team; S. H. Workman 3L, Brown debater; J. Kalanio 3L, of Clark University and Columbia; Cloyd Laporte of the Law School, former inter-class debater.
Three men and one alternate will be selected to represent each class. The first debate will take place next. Tuesday in Sever 11, when the Seniors meet the Sophomores. The Juniors and Freshmen compete on Wednesday. October 31, and the winners will decide the series at a later date. The time of the triangular debate will be announced later.
