SOLDIER ELEVENS CLASH

LINEUPS INCLUDE STARS

With the soldier eleven led by E. W. Mahan '16 and the sailors counting in their lineup five University players, the League Island Marines of Philadelphia clash with the Boston Navy Yard in the Stadium this afternoon at 2 o'clock. Before the game there will be athletic events for the men in service, including track races and a tug-of-war. The entire net proceeds of the carnival will go to the Naval Welfare Fund.

The sailor eleven will meet its first test today since the brilliant 28-to 0 victory over Camp Devens on November 3. W. J. Murray '18, E. L. Casey '19, T. H. Enwright '18 and Cannell of Dartmouth compose a fast backfield, which can be depended upon for long gains. Skilton, the former B. A. A. hockey star, has developed rapidly under Coach Leary, while C. A. Clark, Jr., '19, Algar of Tufts and O'Connor of Georgetown are well-known college linemen. A. Horween '20, a recruit from the University informals, will start at centre, although he may be supplanted later in the contest by Butler from Bates. The Marines did not arrive in time for a workout in the Stadium yesterday, as previously scheduled. Mahan's plans for enlisting Berry, Miller and Bell, all stars of the Penn. Cornell game, did not materialize, so that his team will not have the strength which it was expected to present. Mahan and Peacock in the backfield, and Scott and Wray in the line are the strongest players on the soldiers' team.

The opposing elevens will be represented by the following lineups:

Navy Yard: Lally, l.e.; Adams, l.t.; Algar, l.g.; Horween, c.; Clark, r.g.; O'Connor, r.t.; Skilton, r.e.; Murray, q.b.; Casey, l.h.b.; Cannell, r.h.b.; Enwright, f.b.

Marines: Donovan, r.e.; Dale, r.t.; Gardner, r.g.; Wray, c.; Gailow, l.g.; Corbeau, l.t.; Avery, l.e.; Peacock, q.b.; Scott, r.h.b.; Owens, l.h.b.; Mahan, f.b
