A totally different team in spirit and aggressiveness from last week's slow seven, the University hockey team started its final week of preparation for the first Yale game by defeating the substitutes 3 to 1 in a short scrimmage in the Arena yesterday. The rink was shortened to the size of the New Haven Arena, which handicapped the men to a great extent and Coach Winsor stated that he did not expect brilliant playing for a day or two because they would have to change their game to meet the limitations of the smaller rink. He commended their excellent work against McGill, however, and seemed satisfied with the present situation.
Captain Morgan was kept from practice by train delays and T. C. Thacher '18, although he went onto the ice yesterday, will not be allowed by Dr. Frothingham to get into any games or scrimmages till next week. T. H. Eckfeldt '17 and H. K. White '19 were therefore in the defence positions during the afternoon.
