The Western Union Telegraph Company has enlarged its Cambridge headquarters to more than twice their former size. It now has a spacious well-equipped office, including individual glass-topped writing tables. The operating force has also been greatly increased and now four telephone operators, two Morse operators and two bookkeepers besides the manager and squad of ten messenger boys make up the day staff. There are eight people on the night force.
Every convenience has been furnished the employees. An elaborate rest room is provided for the girls in the telephone department, and they have their telephones in a special sound proof room. The messenger boys are also well looked out for in the new building and they have a library and a dressing room.
