GAY WON FENCING CHAMPIONSHIP

R. H. Snow Captured Freshman Title in Tourney Held Saturday.

In the fencing championship of the University held in Hemenway Gymnasium Saturday morning E. R. Gay '19 by defeating both G. H. Code '18, winner of last year's novice championship, and R. G. Crimmins '19, last year's Freshman champion, captured the University title. The matches were closely contested, several being decided by only a single touch. Such was the case in the match between Gay and Crimmins.

The Freshman championship was won by R. H. Snow '20, who defeated both J. P. Post '20 and C. H. Coster '20, the other two contenders for the title. No novice championship was held, as has been the custom in past years, since there was not a sufficient number of entries.

The complete results follow:

University championship.--E. R. Gay '19, defeated G. H. Code '18; E. R. Gay '19 defeated R. G. Crimmins '19, R. G. Crimmins '19 defeated G. H. Code '18.

Freshman championship.--R. H. Snow '20 defeated J. P. Post '20; R. H. Snow defeated C. H. Coster '20; J. P. Post '20 defeated C. H. Coster '20.
