Lieut. Bertram Williams '18.
News of the death in action of Lieutenant Bertram Williams '18 at St, Mihiel, has been received by his mother. Williams prepared at Middlesex and was a member of the 1918 Freshman crew. He went to France in 1916 as an ambulance driver, later returned to the University, and when war was declared entered the aviation ground school at M. I. T. He was sent overseas and volunteered to take a course in bombing and observing In August he went to the front as an observer and bomber, and less than a month later was shot down in flames together with his pilot.
