Two bad innings in each of which the powerful. Holy Cross nine scored four runs, gave the visitors an 8-6 victory in yesterday's contest with the University baseball team at Soldiers Field. With the exception of the third and sixth sessions, the work of the University nine was much improved. In those two innings, Holy Cross scored nine of its thirteen hits, in addition to receiving the benefit of three bases on balls, and two errors.

The University batters touched Gill for eleven safeties; bringing in runs in the first, second, fourth, and ninth innings. In the last session the University threatened to take the game, when hits by J. L. Knowles Unc., W. B. Frothingham '21, and A. Blair '21 brought in two runs, but the two run lead of the visitors was not overcome.

Knowles, with four safeties to his credit, did the best work for the University at bat, in addition to making three catches in the outfield.
