Team B Defeats Newton Centre by 4-1 Score

Saturday afternoon the University Team A lost a hard-fought squash match with the Tennis and Racquet at the latter's courts, while Team B won 4 to 1 from the Newton Centre Squash and Tennis Club at the Randolph Gymnasium.

In Class A. M. Bradice '22 won his first game but lost the next three to C. Hutchins. The scores were 16-17, 17-14, 15-8, 15-8. L. A. Eldridge '21 was defeated by H. B. Shaw, 15-13, 17-14, 15-8. A. Houghton '21 lost the first game but then rallied, winning the next two, but his opponent, L. Gannell, won the last two, the scores being 15-12, 10-15, 12-15, 15-10, 15-12. H. C. Janin '22, playing M. Battlett, lost the first game 15-10, won the second 10-15, but was defeated 15-8 and 15-10 in the last two D. McK Key '22 lost to J. B. Pierce in a closely contested match with the scores 9-15, 11-15, 17-15, 15-8, 15-8.

Team B defeated Newton Centre 4 to 1, thus getting an easy third place in Class B of the State Squash Racquets tournament. The scores in this match were: M. P. Baker '22 defeated A. R. Holt, 15-6, 15-18, 15-8: F. W. Crocker '22 defeated G. H. Fernald '08, 15-10, 17-14, 10-15, 11-15, 15-10: S. P. Hutchinson '24 defeated W. B. Snow, 15-12, 15-8, 15-5: C. J. Masson '22 lost to A. B. Spear, 15-9, 15-10, 15-9: Channing Wakefield '22 defeated W. H. Russel, 8-15, 8-15, 15-12, 15-12, 18-16.
