REPORT DRIVE FALLING BEHIND ON FINAL DAY

NON-RESIDENT MEN SLOW

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

With only one day of the Hoover drive left, the committee finds the amounts collected very disappointing, and even more disappointing is the fact that up till Tuesday night less than 35 percent of the students of the University had subscribed anything to the European Children's Fund. While not all the men had been seen up to that time, this figure certainly indicates a very noticeable lack of response on the part of both the undergraduate and graduate students.

Today is the last day, and although contributions have been coming in steadily since Tuesday night, these must be more than doubled both in amount and quantity to bring the University up to the amount collected by other colleges of the same size.

Tonight the drive headquarters in the Crimson Building will be open until 10 o'clock so that the solicitors may have the early part of the solicitors may have the early part of the evening in which to see any men whom they have not yet been able to get in touch with. However, it is important that all the dormitory chairmen have their reports in at this time. As it is inevitable that some men will be missed in the canvass of the dormitories, these are asked to bring their subscriptions to the CRIMSON before 10 o'clock tonight.

Non-Residents Called On

The subscriptions from men outside the dormitories are coming in very slowly in spite of the efforts made to reach them. There are a considerable number of such men and their contributions are urgently needed to swell the total. These can be left at Phillips Brooke House between 9 and 5 or at the Crimson Building between 2 and 10.

From the graduate students the response has not been as great as was expected in view of the first returns, which were very promising. Collectors have reported that some graduate students in the dormitories still expect to be canvassed by graduates. As was stated in yesterday's CRIMSON the undergraduates are covering all the College buildings, while the graduates, almost without exception, are working outside of them.
