At the trials held at Soldiers Field yesterday afternoon for the University one-mile relay team, three men were definitely picked, and the fourth man was practically decided upon. E. O. Gourdin '21 made the best time, while close after him came Richard Chute '22 and A. H. Gordon '23. J. W. Quinn '23, who a few days ago made the fastest time so far for the 440-yard sprint, will probably be the fourth man on the team, but R. D. Howard '23 may displace him at the last minute.
The order of the University two-mile relay team has been decided upon. Bayard Wharton '22 will lead off; after him will come F. G. Bemis '22 and J. A. McCarthy '22, while Captain D. F. O'Connell '21 will run as anchor man.
A. S. Simmons, Thomas Merrill, Percy Jenkins and Thomas Campbell have been picked for the Freshman relay team, and will probably run in that order. No team has as yet elected a captain, but they will probably choose their leaders either today or tomorrow.
