LONG SCHEDULE FOR CRIMSON BALL TEAM

University, second and Yearling Nine Will Face Stiff Opposition Through out Season-All Three Meet Elis to Final Games of Year

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The 1921 University baseball schedule includes twenty-five games, the first of which is dated for April 9 with Bates College, and the season will wind up with the Yale series on June 21 and 22. The Princeton series will be played the last part of May. A feature of the schedule is the small number of games the will be played on foreign fields. Excusing the four contests to be played on the Southern trip, only Princeton, Brown, Holy Cross and Yale will be met away from Soldiers Field, and each of the will be return games.

One or two comparatively easy game are as a rule played by the University nine as a part of the season preliminary to the Southern training trip, on the chance that favorable weather appears. Bates will be the early visitor this spring and on the thirteenth there will probably be a game although no team has been obtained yet.

The chosen squad will leave for Georgia on April 16, and in the four days. Atlanta, games will be played with Georgia Tech, University of Georgia, and Ogthorpe University. On the return to north, a contest with Columbia will staged in New York City.

Colby First Regular Home Game

Colby College will be the opponent April 27 in the first of the regular home season games, and the results of the following four games will give a fairly certain gauge of the strength of the nine. Cornell, New Hampshire State, Dartmouth and Holy Cross always turn out successful baseball teams. After M. A. C. and Amherst are met here the team will travel to New Jersey for the first of a Princeton series. Between that and second game, the nine will probably play the University of the Philippines on May 25. The Far-Easterners have planned to make a barnstorming tour through the country, playing games with the more important colleges.

Second Team Plays 11 Games

Provisions have been made for the second team to play eleven games, this season culminating in the Yale second team contest on June 4. The only game to be staged away will be one at Andover, the first of the season, on April.

Thirteen games are on the 1924 schedule, and the first of them is set for April 13 with Groton. Freshman teams from Holy Cross, Dartmouth, Princeton and Yale will be met, and the other games will be with preparatory schools.
