Daily baseball practice in the cage is now the order for the University and Freshman squads. A wealth of infield and outfield material is shown, including a number of letter men, a large supply of last year's second and Freshman teams, and several men who were ineligible last season.
The infield prospects are the best at present, since for each position there is a letter man and one or more valuable substitutes. For the outfield positions Coach Slattery has eighteen men from which to choose a trio, including H. C. Janin '22 and L. A. Hallock '22 of the 1920 team. Both, however, will be pressed for their positions by J. S. Clark '23, D. F. Thayer '23, F. W. Crocker '22 and others.
Seven more candidates will be ready for practice at the close of the hockey season. C. S. Stillman '22 and Donald Angier '22 will join the catching staff; J. M. Martin '22, E. L. Bigelow '21, Jabish Holmes '21 and George Owen '23 are first basemen; and E. H. Stillman '22 will be an outfield candidate.
The management announced yesterday that a game had been arranged with Massachusetts Agricultural College on May 14, in place of the game previously scheduled with Virginia.
