The student concentrating in the third group has enough bumps on the rough road to his degree without the addition of any unnecessary obstacles by the Faculty. Changing the date of the divisionals at this late hour is somewhat upsetting, but not nearly so disconcerting as the plan of holding both the general Divisional and Departmental examinations on the same day. In "thinking" tests of this sort, it is particularly important that the mind of the candidate be fresh in order to do representative work. With no apparent regard for those unfortunate ones who are taking the examinations, the schedule has been drawn up. Possibly because Emerson D is being used for some other purpose in the evening, the Faculty has neglected an opportunity to make things even more difficult for the student: it might have held all three examinations in one day, and scored a complete knock-out.
