In a letter to Hector Lazo '21, captain of the University Phi Beta Kappa baseball team, the captain of the Yale Phi Beta Kappa nine, Edwin Mims Jr., answers the challenge of the former with the following reply:

"We should like to suggest May 30, Decoration Day, as the date most convenient for us. On that day we could secure the University field, as both the University and the Freshmen will be away.
