At the preliminary try-outs for the University debating teams which are to face Pittsburg and Syracuse on Saturday, February 25, over 50 men reported. Five-minute speeches were made by each candidate on either side of the question: "Resolved, That the United States should cancel in full the war debts of the allied powers." The same subject will be used in both meets on February 25, but the University will argue the affirmative against Syracuse and the negative against Pittsburg. The following men were chosen by R. P. Berle 2L., W. A. Bosner, and W. L. Prosser 1L. for further trials on Monday night; R. S. Rowers '24, F. E. Bowman '24, R. S. Eaton '22, R. S. Fanning '23, H. W. Hardy '22, N. E. Himes '22, H. H.
