Announce January 19 as Date for Preliminaries of Annual Debate--French Army Program the Subject

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Announcement has just been made by the Committee in charge that the tryouts for the annual Pasteur Debate will be held on Thursday evening, January 19, in Sever 11.

Each candidate will deliver a five minute speech on either side of the question, "Resolved: that the Army Program of France, as Announced at the Armament Conference, is Justifiable". From those participating in the elimination contest judges will select six men who will take part in the actual debate, which will be held on February 16. The subject will be the same as that used in the trials.

The preliminary and the debate will both be conducted in English and a knowledge of French will not be necessary. Valuable assistance may be obtained from the collection of research material, which will be placed at the desk in the Main Reading Room of the Widener Library as soon as possible.
