It was announced last night that at an important meeting of the University Debating Council it was decided to hold a mid-winter debate with a Western or a Southern College. The Council has received invitations, from various colleges scattered throughout the country, but as yet no choice has been made.

It has also been decided that the team shall make a Southern trip during the Easter holidays. In addition a proposition has been made that a Freshman fall debate be held with Bowdoin College. This proposal has not yet been accepted by Bowdoin.

On Monday, November 20 the annual fall interclass debate will be held with J. C. Hover '24 in charge. These debates are open to any man in college who wishes to participate. Trials for the teams will be held on Monday, November 6.

R. S. Bowers '24, President of the Council, has announced that arrangements for a permanent debating fund, and a permanent coach are to be made this year.
