With the first smooth surface of ice this year on the Charlesbank rinks, Coach Donald Angier 1L. sent the Freshman hockey squad through its initial workout yesterday afternoon. More than 40 candidates reported.

Practice was largely taken up with drill in fundamentals, emphasis being placed upon starting, turning, and going down the ice against a defense. Towards the end of the workout Coach Angier ordered a scrimmage, in which most of the squad took part.

Freshman manager candidates will be called out tomorrow afternoon with a meeting at the H. A. A. at 3.45. The competition will last approximately six weeks.
