PRELIMINARY BOUTS IN BOXING TOURNEY OVER

Final and Semi-Final Drawings Complete--Rounds to be Staged Tomorrow Evening at 8 o'Clock in Hemenway--Interesting Bouts Yesterday

With the boxing room of the Hemenway Gymnasium crowded yesterday afternoon, the preliminary bouts of the annual University boxing tournament were run off, eliminating seven men from the finals to be held tomorrow evening at 8 o'clock in Hemenway. Although there were no surprises in the results, several men in the 158-pound class showed unexpected skill.

Wolcott Fuller 3E.S. defeated G. T. Barker '23 only after a terrific fight in all three rounds. Barker opened up with several hard hits at the body with surprising speed. Fuller came back with two hard blows to Barker's chin after which the match slowed up considerably.

The H. L. Hartley '23-J. O. Bangs '25 bout furnished additional excitement, Hartley finally winning through superior reach and height.

Isadore Shapiro '23, A. B. Smith '24, L. L. Shea sG.B., G. H. Courtney '25, T. B. Coolidge '23, A. F. Gegner '23, H. T. Pearson '24, and D. A. Colvin '24 have withdrawn from the tournament.
