The University wrestlers, scoring ten points, took third place Saturday afternoon in the New England intercollegiate wrestling championships held at Hemenway Gymnasium. M. T. T. won the New England title with 18 pints, barely nosing out Brown, the favorite to win, by one point. Dartmouth trailed with three.
Benoni Lock wood '22 was the only Crimson wrestler to win in the final bouts, defeating Imlay of Brown by decision after 12 minutes if stand-up wrestling, thus winning the heavyweight title.
The feature bout of the finals was in the 175-pound class between Francis Rouillard '23 and Eckstein of Brown. In the extra period after fierce grappling the latter won with a time advantage of 39 seconds.
In the bouts to decide the runner cup, Rouillard came back winning over Marsh of Dartmouth by decision. T. S. Whitman '23 won by decision in the 125-pound class as did Morris Michelson '24 in the 135-pound class.
