The University fencers defeated the champion Cubans yesterday afternoon at the Hemenway Gymnasium in an informal exhibition match. Although a regular match had been planned, it was decided to hold only exhibition fencing since the Cuban team had fenced last night and will meet the B. A. A. team tonight.

Burke Boyce '22, E. H. Lane '24, and E. L. Lane '24, the two latter fencing, in turn, the same opponent, won bouts with foils from Auton and Aizcrobe. Caldez defeated J. K. Watson '23 in an epee bout but lost to C. J. Shearn '23. Several exhibition bouts between the Cuban team and the Harvard second team were held, and two members of the former team also met Rilay and Boulton, visiting Yale fencers.

Auton, who was defeated by Captain Boyce, holds the Cuban National Fencing championship.
