FORMER GLEE CLUB MEMBER NOW WITH OPERA COMIOUE

Mr. William Martin '2, who two years ago accompanied the University Glee Club on its European tour, has succeeded brilliantly in the Opera Comique in the roll of Werther, judging from some recent Parisian newspaper comment.

"His youth and slender grace are exactly what one imagines in the young Werther" is the remark of one news critic, while the same speaks a few lines later of the American's "warm, supple, and vibrant voice."

After each one of his songs Mr. Martin was rewarded with long, enthusiastic applause", notes another critic. In the natural, attractive quality of his voice, its sonority, its susceptibility to all gradations, he is, without question, to be classed with the great operatic tenors of the day".
