UNION DOUBLES TOURNAMENT REACHES SEMI-FINAL ROUND

Upjohn and Roots Meet Carpenter and Harrington This Afternoon

The Union tennis tournament is rapider drawing to a close: tomorrow the finals of the doubles will be played and probably on Monday the finals of the singles. But one match is scheduled for today, that between the Upjohn and Roots combination and Carpenter and Hamington. Upjohn and Roots got into this match, the semi-finals, as a result of their victory yesterday over Praff and Collier, the score of which was 6-4, 6-2.

The winner of today's match will brush against Stralem and Dixon in the finals, which will probably be played tomorrow. Stralem and Dixon had trouble yesterday in defeating Allen and Perkins, 6-8, 6-3, 6-4,.

Coach Cowles seeding order received a slight upset in the singles matches yesterday when Cummings, number five, was defeated by Perkins, number six, the score being 6-3, 6-4.
