LOWELL GIVES LECTURE IN CHOICE OF CAREER SERIES

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

President Lowell spoke last night at the Union on "Choosing a Career", inaugurating a series of five lectures which will be held this year under the auspices of the Committee on Vocations.

His speech, which he requested be withheld from publication, attracted over a hundred men, mostly Seniors. For some years it has been felt that undergraduates did not give the important matter of choosing a career sufficient thought to enable them to make an intelligent choice. For this reason the Committee is organizing a series of speeches and also issuing a questionnaire.

This questionnaire is very similar to that of last year but is being sent out by the newly formed Committee, rather than, as last year, by the Dean's office. It was announced yesterday by Mr. Delmar Leighton '19, Secretary of the Committee, that so far 88 of these questionnaires, or about 15 per cent of the total number sent out, have been returned to his office, 3 University Hall. Last year 87 per cent were returned.
