1927 DEBATING CLUB FAVORS VOLSTEAD ACT BY 2-1 VOTE

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

By a vote of more than two to one, the Freshman Debating Club decided last night in favor of the Volstead Act rather than a bill allowing light wines and beers. J. S. Donaldson and Edward Baur supported the winning side in the formal part of the argument, defeating D. W. Chapman and D. R. K. Barnes.

The meeting was in the Smith Halls Common Room, with over 40 men in attendance. A lively discussion followed the prepared speeches.
