With four days remaining before its opening contest with the Boston Hockey Club on Friday the University hockey team holds its first practice on ice at the Arena today. The freezing machinery was still out of commission Saturday morning, so that the coaches were obliged to confine their instruction that afternoon to a blackboard talk.
The second game of the season, however, will not be held until more than a week after the initial encounter, when Boston University opposes the Crimson on December 18. This year for the first time the University will play at the Arena a two out of three games series with Toronto, the Canadians having hitherto been limited to a single engagement. McGill and Hamilton will be the newcomers this season.
The schedule, part of which has not as yet been approved by the Athletic Committee, has been announced and is as follows, with all games at the Arena unless otherwise indicated:
December 7, --Boston Hockey Club
December 15.--Boston Athletic Association.
December 18.--Boston University
December 21.--McGill
January 3.--Toronto
January 5.--Toronto
January 7.--Toronto (In case of tie)
January 9.--M. I. T.
January 19.--Princeton at Princeton
February 9.--Yale
February 16.--Princeton
February 20.--Hamilton
February 23.--Dartmouth
March 1.--Yale at New Haven
